Project Overview
Gunship Group partnered with a leading African telecommunications operator to deliver a large-scale Private Cloud Infrastructure Modernization initiative across 14 operating companies (OPCOs) and 28 data centres. The engagement covered the end-to-end design, deployment, infrastructure augmentation, hardware refresh, workload migration, and modernization of enterprise data centre environments. The solution leveraged technologies including VMware, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat OpenShift, Lenovo and Dell infrastructure, SAN, enterprise storage, networking, and backup platforms to build a scalable, resilient, and future-ready private cloud foundation.

Designed, deployed, and delivered compute, storage, backup, and networking augmentation across 28 data centres spanning 14 operating companies (OPCOs).
Installed enterprise servers, hypervisors, SAN switches, storage arrays, backup appliances, and network infrastructure with rack installation, cabling, hardware validation, and production integration.
Red Hat OpenShift Deployment
Successfully deployed 18 Red Hat OpenShift clusters across 6 operating companies, including Production, UAT, and Disaster Recovery environments.
Delivered enterprise backup integration, infrastructure security, centralized lifecycle management, and high platform availability.
Virtual Machine Migration
Migrated over 6 PB of enterprise data and 2,000+ virtual workloads from end-of-life infrastructure to modern private cloud platforms with zero or minimal downtime.
Successfully migrated nearly 800 TB hosted on multi-writer disks without data loss or recovery requirements.
Executed migrations of up to 200 TB within a single maintenance window of just 6–8 hours.
Groundhog Infrastructure Deployment
Designed and deployed compute, networking, and storage infrastructure across multiple enterprise data centres.
